The Society was established by six local genealogists in 1985 to interact with others who share an interest in Greene County. Membership has expanded to include researchers from throughout the United States.

 

The Greene County Genealogical Society welcomes new members. Dues are currently $25 per year. Membership includes The Greene County Pioneer (semi-annual journal) and free publication of search queries.

 

Meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of March, June and October. The meeting place will be announced in the Greeneville Sun newspaper a few days before the meeting.
